Broken Lines

Broken Lines is a squad-based tactics game set in Eastern Europe during WW2. I was hired for the project to work on its level design from 2018 to 2019.

My job on the project was to beautify the already existing basic scenes. By placing new 3D models, creating props and various vegetation, as well as adjusting light and adding shadows, I was able to create a more authentic and believable experience. While designing the levels, I tried to draw inspiration from the Romanian countryside and villages.

All of the 3D assets were created in Autodesk Maya, textured using the Substance Painter and placed in Unity.

The game ended up released on Steam in February 2020 and has since then been shortlisted for numerous awards and won several of them, such as the Best Strategy Game award at Dreamhack Atlanta and Regional Winner of Nordic Sensation Award.

Date: November 2018 to February 2019
